The fears for Europe's biggest nuclear plant have been exacerbated by the destruction of a dam that provided the cooling water for the plant.  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's claims have been refuted by Russia. BMC demolishes 'illegal' branch of Shiv Sena (UBT) in Mumbai, triggers protests

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) authorities on Thursday demolished the Shiv Sena (UBT) unit in Bandra East, triggering protests from UBT workers and office bearers. Several police officials reached the site in Nirmal Nagar locality to ensure peace amid rising tensions.  Shiv Sena (UBT) office bearers claimed that the authorities did not issue any prior notice before the demolition.  The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carried out the demolition of a Shiv Sena (UBT) shakha (unit) on Thursday afternoon, deeming it an “illegal construction”. The action triggered protests and drew a significant police presence in the area. The demolished unit was situated in the Nirmal Nagar locality of Bandra East. Explosion, late-night firing in parts of Manipur, situation brought under control

A number of explosions and some firing incidents were reported from several parts of Manipur on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the Sawonbung-YKPI road remained blocked at multiple locations due to protests organised by Meira Paibis. Vehicle in flames after violence broke out during the 'Tribal Solidarity March' called by All Tribal Student Union Manipur (ATSUM), in Imphal.  An explosion and incidents of firing were reported in different districts of Manipur on Wednesday night as violence continues in the state. A blast triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED) was reported in Bishnupur district. The bomb was planted inside a parked vehicle, officials said. In Kangpokpi district, firing was reported last evening. The security forces intervened and brought the situation under control. The alleged assaults continued for 10 years - between 2011 and 2020.  Police have identified 92 cases of rape and arrested 51 people. They are looking for others. A man in France has been accused of drugging his wife every night and then inviting men to rape her. According to a report in The Telegraph, the shocking practice with the unsuspecting wife continued for 10 years during which investigators identified 92 cases of rape. Fifty one of those men — between the age of 26 and 73 — have been arrested and charged with rape and the police are looking for others, the outlet further said. Flood situation grim in Assam; nearly 1.2 lakh people affected
